• There is such a thing as a free lunch – find out more

  • THE saying goes: ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’, but The Rotary Club of Leeds White Rose are proving there is. One of the youngest and newest clubs in the international Rotary family the team, which meets for breakfast each Wednesday morning at the Park Plaza Hotel, has hit on a novel way to celebrate their Charter and raise cash for inner city teenagers. They are giving away a free table of ten to the May 25 dinner at the Leeds Park Plaza! Naturally there is a catch explains Ed Sanders the Club President. “We’re offering local businesses, charities and individuals an opportunity to sponsor the event and support our President’s Charity AIM Education ( and other local causes. “For a donation of £100.00 they will be entered into a draw, the winner of which will be named the sole sponsor of the event. The sponsor will be named in all correspondence relating to the event, will be able to display their company branding in the room on the night and win a table for 10 people (worth £350.00) at the dinner. “All entrants in the prize draw will be named on our website, our various social media channels and have their logo displayed on the menus on each table on the night. Above all, they’ll all be supporting some fantastic causes! “White Rose has a reputation for being a different Rotary Club and we wanted to make sure that our 15th Charter was an event to remember for everyone particularly the Leeds businesses who support us so this is their chance to be part of something memorable. “As well as dancing and art provided by city centre contemporary organisations we have a novel guest speaker, AA Dhand the Bradford crime writer who will talk about his struggle to get a book publishing deal and how it has spiraled to be made into a film,” added Ed. Any business which would like to sponsor the event and have the chance to win a table for ten should contact or
